Mental Health in Corrections Consortium (MHCC) Mission Statement:

MHCC is dedicated to becoming the leading voice for mental health and substance abuse treatment providers within the criminal justice and correctional systems.

MHCC will provide the highest quality of education and training related to mental health and substance abuse issues within the criminal justice and correctional systems.

MHCC endorses the need and mandate to successfully establish treatment programs to reduce offender recidivism, prevent the inception of criminal conduct in members of society, while providing training and networking opportunities to the work force within corrections.

MHCC believes that the development of professional networks is vital to the maintenance of our own mental health and physical well being and ability to help those who utilize our services.  The association will seek to promote these contacts by a membership directory and proven resource materials.  The association will develop a cadre of professionals in a variety of subject areas that can provide training.
